Treatments at FootWise
- the General Treatment
General treatments are the first appointment
for first-time patients or a regular check-up appointment
for FootWise patients. The general treatment is an
overall examination and maintenance of the health
of the patient's feet.
In this sort of consultation, John Burrie,
your podiatrist, may do any of the following procedures:
|
|
- Removal of callous
and corn.
John gently uses a scalpel to painlessly
par away the corn or callous until a normal
skin thickness is achieved.
- Cutting and filing of nails.

- Treatment of warts.
The
wart is pared away as much as possible
with a scalpel, and acid is then applied
to neutralize the growth. Alternatively,
the wart can be frozen.
- Diagnosis of fungal
skin infections.

- Treatment of blisters and minor foot
problems.

- John may talk with
you
about your ingrown
toenail, joint
pain, flat
feet or heel
spurs, and advise you on the next
course of action.
- Footwear
advice,
foot disorder prevention advice, and diabetic
footcare advice.
